I went to the guitar store today ending up with this(on the right):

Extremely light, good crunch, nice neck and I'm not sure what gauge is on there but very easy to fret. Only complaint is the tremolo system doesn't hold tune very well. But I don't use it very often.

You go girl!

I'm not a huge proponent of super cheap guitars, but in the last five years the quality of Squier guitars has increased 10-fold in my experience. The first Squier I ever picked up was $150 and the 5-way switch literally fell through the pickguard INTO the guitar 5 minutes into playing. The '51 I just bought feels as substantial and solid as my American Strat.

Okay who are you and what did you do with the REAL OWA? I know I had several chats with her about what kind of guitar to buy and the REAL OWA always turned her nose up at Strats, Teles and the like.

Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

Quick! Someone go outside and make certain there are no large green pods outside OWA's room.

Congrats on the Strat. I like the double humbucker configuration. . . . now you have me wanting to go find one  and I just put new strings on the 51.

Tele I hear ya!!
I don't get it there are no spikes, points or sharp things on either of those guitars. They really look like axes that an oldie like me should have. OWA When you get bored with them I'll send you my address and you can ship them here. I cringe when I think that you are becoming a conformist. Nice choices!!

I seem to recall her calling Strat's "Garish" as well as the heads being to big. Hee Hee another one falls for the beauty of a well shaped axe.
As for the Trem try blocking it from the back with a peice of wood it makes string changes sooooo much easier. P.S. when you do change the strings (if you don't have it blocked) remember to wedge a plastic card(one you don't use anymore) under the bridge to hold it up otherwise your going to have a heck of a time getting the bridge back to level.

Strats were boring looking..............until one of my favourite guitarists played one. I don't remember seeing any '51 guitars there, wasn't really looking though. A cyclone caught my eye though.

Margaret, thanks for the offer for the jam but funk is not my thing.
