Hello all, I just finished up my recent project, the "Butterfly"... She used to be a Koren Squier (well, I guess she still is) but "from the pedestrian catepiller spring forth the beautiful butterfly"...

I've posted a page with detailed before and after pics...

Is the neck really from a Fender? Or just the Squier with a decal?

Chuck Norris invented Kentucky Fried Chicken's famous secret recipe, with eleven herbs and spices. But nobody ever mentions the twelfth ingredient: Fear!

No, it is the same neck that came originally with the guitar. I removed the neck, sanded the headstock down, added the Fender logo, and replaced all the dot markers with abalone dots. One of the dots had actually fallen out of the neck, so I figured that since I had to replace that ONE marker, why not dress up all the markers. Wasn't terribly difficult, but the Dremel tool got a workout.

In addition, The neck is very nice - thin and easy to play. I was impressed with the workmanship for the neck.

The body was a beat-up plywood body, so it really needed some help.

Overall it plays very well. Has anyone else done a squier re-build?
