was checking one out at the store today.cool little guitar i liked it it had lite strings on it would be better with 11's i didn't plug it in too busy,i was surprised at the price $820 can.i thought these were supposed to be cheap?

gibsonSG standard/gallagher"doc watson" acoustic

I don't think you played the new one coming out. Gibson had a Melody Maker reissue thing or something that I saw recently in Musicians Friend and it was around $700 US. The new ones are $350 US.

$825 Canadian for that guitar doesn't sound right. I can get a Gibson Explorer for $1,195. It could've been a Les Paul Junior you had.

nah it was a melody maker,satin ebony small head stock,not to mention it said melody maker it was brand new,pretty much the same as a jr.wrap around bridge,i would like to hear it thru a amp

Not sure what would cause the big price difference if that's the case. Figure the big selling point is it's cheap. But for $800 there are a lot nicer guitars out there.
