Sure, Kwela originated in south Africa in the 50's played on a penny whistle through the side of the mouth. Avery african township contagious sound with a jazz influence !!!!!!.. Look up Juluka Kwela man !!!!

Kwela means "get up" in Xhosa / Zulu , and what happened was......

..in the old days they used to put the penny whistlers on the street corners everywhere so when they heard or saw the police coming to check for illegal drugs or 'shabeeens' ( illegal beer halls) they would start playing and the people knew to 'get up' and hide their stuff..... so it became know as 'kwela' music

If you can't find any I would be happy to email you a couple of songs, just pm me a preferred email.

I am returning to South Africa for good at the end of the year and want to incorporate the township style music into the lyrics I write.
