Not trying to hijack Vic's Tele post, but here is a guitar that my son got for me. It's an '06 MIM Tele in chrome red with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails humbucker in the bridge. He got it for about the price of a Squier Tele, which I had been drooling over every time I went to GC.

Anyway, here it is.

Going to make sure I show my son this post! :P Beautiful guitar.

In recent ads here in Australia, I've noticed the price difference between a lot of the Squier range and MIM Fenders is narrowing.

Sweet looking Tele!

Maybe when I get some soundclips of mine, you can do the same and we can compare p/u's. Oh and by the way, got any spare sons? I only have daughters.......maybe we can work out a trade?

:D :D :D

I got a Hot rail in my Squire Tele. It makes it a totally different beast. The kind I like!

Thanks everyone! He bought it from a guy that belongs to the car racing forum (see the similarity already?) that my son belongs to and frequents every day. He knew that I was interested in a Tele and he told me about this one, but I kind of forgot about it (yeah right) and he came home with it on Saturday night. He really is a good kid (well he's 22), and does nice things for everyone often, but this was the biggest surprise I've had in a long time.

Vic, I would love to record some sound clips but I don't have any recording equipment, or talent for that matter. Seriously though, I will try to do that in the next couple of months. Any ideas on inexpensive recording gear?

Depending on your gear it could be really cheap, just buy a large to small jack thingy
Like this one.
Then plug it from you output (if your amp has one, if you use and fx pedal it's just the one you plug into the amp) to your pink (I think) input on your PC and use something like audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to record. I know its a bit of a budget job but it works well enough for me :D

(BTW I know nothing about this stuff so I apoligise if my terms arn't quite the proper technical ones, "jack thingy" lol! )

EDIT: found out that what I meant is a 1/4 Inchto 3.5mm jack adapter
