I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I hope this is ok. So me and a couple of friends just recently put a band together and we all have a bunch of lyrics written. Now we're trying to figure out how to put them to guitar, etc... Is there like a starting point, or an easy way to do this for beginners, or any sort of hints that could help us? Thanks.
Start by reading this Expanding your chord vocabulary . Then go here Guitar Noise Song Writing articles and read as many of the articles you can. After all this you should have a good understanding of how a song is composed. For inspiration hit the Song Writing forum further down on The Forum Index and get some ideas.
