I searched Google for MIDI+guitars and found only a few useful links.
I MIDI guitar really useful for controlling MIDI synths, recording notation, etc. or is it still at development phases?

They're pretty well developed, although they can be spotty at times. You're probably better off with something like the Starr Labs Ztar. or just learning to play keys.
