I've been waiting for an Ibanez RG to be in stock for awhile at my local guitar shop. I looked at several other guitars today too. Dean Dimebag Darrell tribute (liked it), Epi LP Goth (liked that too), a tele-copy (nice guitar), black Gibson Explorer (couldn't afford that), a blue Ibanez Artcore, and several Epi LP Standards. GAS overload today. :D

Bonehead that I am I should have tuned the guitars that I played with. Wouldn't have made it any easier though.

Here's another reason I went with an Ibanez RG....

I feel in love with that guitar last July, but like with women I was too slow. :(

I like it. It took about 2 hours to decide on a guitar. I've been interested in an RG ever since my first instructor had one, two....er...he had/has quit a few. It sure was set up nice mimus being tuned. I'm already thinkin' of selling my GRG because the neck is thicker. Now I have 3 different guitars that it's hard to choose which one to play. :D

Someday I would like to try some ESPs, and Jacksons, and Fender teles.

Did you get the black one or the white one? I like the black one better, sweet pickguard. My friend has the white one, which he beats on quite regularly and seems to take it well. Ibanez necks are incredible, i've heard some people say it's a toss up between ibanez and les paul for necks. I'm likely going to get an ESP next if a Les Paul doesn't catch my eye first. A fine gift.

The black RG. I missed out getting the white RG. :D

Yeah, the pickguard has a stainless steel look to it. I also play an Epi LP. I don't know how big a difference it is from the Gibby's. The neck on my Gibson Flying V Faded is sweet.

Glad you went with the black. I am partial to black guitars for some reason I have never figured out.

Enjoy it for a long time.

im with nils, black guitars are wicked

i saw a band called the Cellarbirds once, and their lead singer had an ooooold black Tele, and the paint was worn along the edges. it was a really awesome looking guitar. Anyone from Pennsylvania, might have heard of the Badlees, and the Cellarbirds are basically the Badlees minus the singer. They are the backing band for Jared Campbell, who is a really good singer songwriter not much older than myself.

i want a black tele so bad

I like the black one better too although I agree with the pointy comments. I have a ibanez s470dx which is very similar to those (same pickups, neck, electronics?) but more roundish and blue...

Ibanez guitars are really quite nice for the price.
