Kind of related and just had to share... My wife surprised me with David Gilmour tickets today... I was working with a ticket broker yesterday and was going to drop $400+ for tickets, then today found that she bought them a month ago when they went on sale.... The concert is in New York City at Radio City Music Hall on April 4th - this is the first tour date in the US... See even booked the Hotel and the train And arranged for my buddy to go... Him and I saw Gilmour in 94 and Waters in 00 and 03... I am totally stoked!!!         :D :D
I'll only be down there (in the basement practicing) for a couple of minutes or so...

Hmm, maybe I should rethink this whole "We don't celebrate Valentine's Day" thing?
Congrats though man! Awesome gift! I was doing something similar for my wife for her BDay, Neil Diamond in Biloxi. That was until Katrina destroyed the venue!
That is awesome! I was thinking about going to that show, I'm regretting passing it up.
I'll make sure my people treat you well here in NY ;)
YOU LUCKY LUCKY DOG!!!!
You'd better take her out and drop at least a $100 on dinner for her :)
I'm sooo jealous..... 'd LOVE to see Gilmour... 'd Love to MEET Gilmour.
Have a great evening ;)

Now there's a woman knows how to please her man!
Thanks all - I will give a detailed report after the event. Hotel seems pretty cool: http://www.newyorkpalace.com/ The train is the quickest and easiest into the city - takes just under 3 hours. That way I will not have to trade paint with the taxis... We are leaving before noon so we have plenty of time to kick around the city (and find Mr. Gilmour in some back alley guitar shop - he has been know to buy some pretty rare guitars in NYC) She got really good seats too - we are in the orchestra!!! :D Here is a little taste: http://www.jambase.com/headsup.asp?storyID=7687
PS - I got her Areosmith tickets for a show in Hershey PA for Valentines Day... She loves Areosmith - the show is on March 12th. It's kind of crazy as we have never bought each other concert ticket and this time we both ended up going that route... I debated long and hard about doing this because she is giving birth to our third child 5 days later (scheduled c-section), but she assured me that all the people that like Areosmith are old and we will not have any issues... :P
I'll only be down there (in the basement practicing) for a couple of minutes or so...
