Sounds like you need to get a job at a music store, then you can sell guitar strings and hopefully other stuff, too. You combine a sales job with something you love.
When it all comes down to it, I'm sure you love your wife, but the question is, "How much do you love music?" Are you losing out on your love of music for her? Don't! If she can't accept you for who you are, then what is going on with the relationship? I won't be pessimistic or negative, but the truth is in your heart and you must either think deeply about what is in your heart or just feel what is there and go for it.
