Went back to the store on Thursday to collect the LP they were going to loan me while mine was away for repair. They'd got the Translucent Amber from the London store. I gave it a thorough check over and discovered the Pickup Selector Switch was loose. I didn't want to risk taking it in case the wires inside were damaged.
As luck would have it they had received a shipment of new LP stock in the day before and amongst them was a Translucent Amber one. I gave it a good going over and found that this one was in perfect condition so decided to take it on loan. The same deal applied. If I liked the loaner and wanted to keep it while mine was away for repair I could keep it. If not then I could have my Wine Red one back and return the loaner. Gibsons QC may suck but you can't argue with the service the store was giving me under the circumstances.
Anyway this is what I currently have:
I haven't fully decided yet but I think I may keep the Trans Amber one. It's a stunner.
As for sound, this thing growls. It's awesome.
Whichever on I finally decide to keep I know it's the start of a long and beautiful relationship.

Yes indeed. The Yamaha is staying. I can't see me ever parting with it. It was my first real guitar. We've been through a lot together.
It will still see plenty of action even though I've got my new toy. :wink:

Cool Chuckster! I had bought a Yamaha (the PAC-012) as well and had a lot of trouble with it. I took it back to GC a couple of times and while I was there I started GASsing for a Mexican Strat. I ended up trading the Yamaha for it. I'm glad yours is treating you well and your keeping it.

Thats a very nice amber one, chuckster. Personally I like the red one a tiny bit more, but only by a little! :lol:

I like the white furry lining inside the case. And my favourite is the amber one. How truely it shows the grain.
