Hi - havent posted i a while - but this one is too good to keep by myself.

A friend of mine - aspiring musician ( http://www.hakan.no ) - fell in love recently with a miss Gibson (surname J-200) and had to take her home with him. He couldn't really afford it by far, and decided to sell all the rest of his stuff. I got an unrefusable offer on a 1993 Japan Tele Thinline, a Fender Stage 185 amp, a distortion pedal and a wah-wah pedal. The sum payed equals pretty much what a Squire Standard Tele or Strat would've costed in a shop here in Norway. Bargain!
I told him many times I wouldn't like to rip him off, but he was happy with it. Sigh! Have been playing with the thought of aquiring a Squire for some time - but this is the real thing!
:D :D

Most of my stuff is used also. Otherwise I would most likely have around 10 grand tied up. For example, I went on e-bay and got 5 different pedals over time. which cost me around 120 bucks all together. If I would have bought the same pedals new, be around 600 at least and that is if i went with cheaper models.

Yeah you got a sweet deal. enjoy!

...well I thought I needed to practice something that suits the guitar - yesterday I found the tab to Hideaway: Mayall & the bluesbreakers with EC on guitar. ... awesome song. It's not entirely impossible that an attempt of recording it will emerge during the next *fill in appropriate amount of time* - should anyone happen to have a backing track?

I've never been a fan of replicating solos, but here is a lot of tricks to work with - man - bending three frets, bending 1 fret on one string and 2 frets on the adjacent string, slides on 1st and 3rd string... should keep me busy for a while...! 8)

.09 strings arrive tomorrow I hope

BTW - the pickup switch is not 100% - would ...uhm... WD40 or smth like that be a good idea?

Beautiful wood! I just love the grain on the front! And that pearlized pickguard makes it look really retro! You did very well, Larsko! Those little scars just give it more personality! Congratulations again! :D

Thanks elektra

Some polish, new strings and lots of exercise should bring her in good shape. I'm afraid she's been neglected over the last years. I will give her lots of attention - hopefully that will result in some good feedback(!) ;)

copared to this

obviously a'69 sunburst telecaster thinline

;)

(I think weight reduction might be a better argument actually)
