Rahul. I had second thoughts about the title of my post...it wa after I posted.
once I post I try not to change things. deletes look suspicious.
I am a strong believer in the power of women. I should have been more circumpsect.
anyway.
dobros are great instruments. the tone is undeniable.
for me when I hit a certain note it brings up memories and songs Ive heard.
the biggest thrill I have gotten is playing non traditional. tuned to open G I found the first fret to be very mysterious and eastern sounding.
then , turning on a dime I can bring it back to western and hit a bunch of blues notes.
National really makes exzcellent instruments. worth every penny(ahem100$).

bford. I like the 'babes' in your avatar.
the electric looks like a Richenbacher. yes?
Thats more compliment than that guitar deserves dogbite :D
I only wish I had a Ric. My electric is a Washburn WI14. About $150 new. My first one so I didn't ask for much till I knew for sure if I wanted to go electric. I'm hooked now.
I still love my acoustic though. Shes a Washburn D10S. Nice piece for 225.

Haha, quite a few women I know have given their guitars boys' names, myself included. So I wouldn't worry about it. :D
My guitar's name is Yamaha C-70.
Occasionaly i call it 'her' too
Rahul it's really easy to see why guitars are referred to as women. Look at any of the great sex symbols like Mae West, Jane Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Raquel Welch etc. and compare their bodies to the shape of the guitar, both full of rounded sexy curves, a bit thinner in the waist but not to thin tapering out to full wide hips, rounded firm bottom, long graceful neck. Geez what more could a guy ask for in a woman or a guitar??? :D
