I am struggling with this. Its simple chords, but I can't figure out a helf decent picking pattern.

Any of you play it, if you, how?

Ta

Matt

It's been awhile since I heard the song, but I seem to recall that it's based on a simple finger picking pattern...something like Thumb Middle Thumb Index, straight eigth notes.

I wish I could help. It was one of the first songs I ever learnt to play, but it was nearly 30 years ago. What are you having trouble with?

Regards,
Paul

Matt, what key are you playing it in? I play it in G, but I'm not sure if that's the original key.....

I had to work this song out a few years ago - daughter was singing it at school, and needed to practise at home - and I've never got out of the habit of NOT playing it.....still one of the first songs I play, great picking exercise. Tabbing it out might take a while....if you can find the original key, I'll try tabbing it out for you.

:D :D :D

C, G, Am, Em
F, C/G, F, G6
C, G, Am, Em
F, C/G, G, C

Iv been playing it by hiting the base not then one strum, then the lower base and another strum for each note but it sounds so empty compaired to how he plays it, i.e http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VmKMQI9mbZ8

I just started playing about 3 months back so havent got the ear for things yet...
