Anyone want to post a song that has a really good intermediate rock blues type lick. Just examples of licks that have great phrasing and note choice. I've been playing a little over two years and am sorta of stuck in a rut. I just need to get my licks together. THanks

Hmmm...thats a very tough one because, most of the really good rock/blues licks are pretty easy to play. Come to think of it, almost all rock/blues licks can be easily played by novice guitarists...

If you consider yourself intermediate, then maybe you should start to learn the solos from songs. To me, an "intermediate" lick would be like a solo...

Good rock/blues solos are:

Stairway to heaven
Spoonful (Cream)
White room (")
Sunshine of your love (")
Freebird (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Blue Sky (The Allman Brothers)
and the ultimate blues/rock solo - Machine Gun (Jimi)

to name a few...

At this time I would like to tell you that NO MATTER WHAT...IT IS WITH GOD. HE IS GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL. HIS WAY IS IN LOVE, THROUGH WHICH WE ALL ARE. IT IS TRULY -- A LOVE SUPREME --. John Coltrane

Blue - Jason Becker
New Blues - Joe Satrani
Trademark - eric johnson
Righteous - Eric Johnson

Dont be put by the fact these are virtuoso players. Its blues, so they play fairly simple stuff in these songs
My favourites are "Blue" and "New Blues". Check out the first one for some non-standard blues licks, and the latter for some more typical (but cool) ones.
