It's time for me to buy new strings, and I'm going to try something new this time on the electric. Also, I have never restrung the acoustic, so I'm going to need a lot of help with picking out those strings. The questions in this survey are...

A. What strings do you use on your electric (Brand, Type, Size)
B. What strings do you use on your acoustic (Brand, Type, Size)

Thanks. I'm going to keep track of who posts what, I'm going to the GC on tuesday night. Thanks in advance.

Who needs a signature?
I mean really...
It's almost always lyrics...
or a cliche...
or garbage about me...
Lets just save YOU from the pain, ok?

I know I've done some pretty scary installations in my early days of guitar ownership. Probably tried everything up to and including tying a bowline-on-a-bight to get the durn things onto the post.
I think (hope) my technique has improved over the past 25 years or so. :P

As far as gauge and brand, I've tried most of the "big" brands at one time or another, with no particular preference. I've pretty much standardized on 10's for electrics. I've got D'Addario EXL150 Nickel XL Electrics for my Jay Turser Hawk12, and Martin MSP4600 12-String Phosphor Bronze Extra Lights for my old Yamaha acoustic. (Trying to be kind to the neck of it.)

Elixer Nanoweb 10s for electric.
Martin Marquis 10s for acoustic.

I think I might bump the electrics to 11....

Galli GR-60 Hard tension on my classical...(which are amazing , and keep their tone , considering the amount i play them )

I want to try Savarez but they don't sell them here.

Solid-body: Ernie Ball 9s or GHS Boomer 9s
Semi-hollow: Ernie Ball 11s
Acoustic: Martin 80/20 12s

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Electrics: Ernie Ball Slinky Top, Heavy Bottoms (10 to 52), the older the better - I'm not a fan of jangle :)

Electro-Acoustic: Whatever make/size it is you get when you say "just yer average cheapo bronze strings, please" :)
