I run a blog about music theory and reviews - Note Theory
and I wanted to find a bunch of good guitar sites (like this one) to put up as a collection of useful sites to bookmark.
What other sites do you guys visit?

Go there. It lists some pretty good ones. That's how I found (amongst other places) GN.

I own a guitar string and accessories store called SonicStrings.net. I'd sure appreciate a link on your site. :D You could also sign up as an affiliate and make 10% off any sales you send my way.

Another good forum is Jam Session.

You won't get any popups on either of the sites I posted. I don't know why anyone uses popups - all they do is annoy people.

I will say this about advertising... it is a necessary evil for anyone running a free site like this.

I typically spend 3 or 4 hours on a post to my blog once a day and I only make about $.10 a click for a small banner ad.
Popups pay alot better... so click alot of times on small banner ads on my site so I don't have to resort to banners
