I don't gig yet, so i just leave picks on my amp. But that's definitely a good idea.

Strats come with a built in pick holder. Typically I use a heavy pick, but in a pinch when I loose mine I have a thin one stuck under the pick guard. Most times I don't keep one in there, I'm generally really good at holding onto them.
When I do the sheilding on it I might shave a bit of plastic off the back of the guard in that spot so I can stick some heavy picks in there.
I use a crazy solution: put them in a box next to my guitars....:p

Why drill?
Why drill...because I am NOT paying the jacked up price for something that isn't going to last (which I mentioned in a previous post). Plus I can put the holes where they are comfortable to ME. I don't want just ONE big hole...several smaller holes work MUCH better
As for nonslip picks, when I was using flat picks a lot I bought a bunch of "Snarling Dog Brain Picks with Cat Tongue Grip." (I just love that name!) They have a raised file-like tooth pattern on the sides (that feels like a cat's "sandpaper tongue) that effectively prevents slipping.

That's why I wear the bandana when I play I can keep half a dozen or so picks in it and the audience seems to get a kick out of seeing me pull them out of there
Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

They make picks with the holes already drilled but I think they are overpriced...takes me about 5 minutes to drill out 10 picks...andthey last me a while. It does however, make them a tad bit weaker and if I do some heavy strumming for an extended period of time they can break but not too often.
I use regular, celluloid, heavy Fender picks and I don't think I've ever broke a pick in my life. What gauge do you use? Maybe if I drill holes in them though...

Like my post said..."make them a tad bit weaker" meaning the drilling...
I use a hole punch for mine, I use .60 picks though so that may not work with the thicker ones.
Don't drop picks much anymore, but when I do I just hit a big bend or power chord using my index finger, bend down and pick my pick back up. :D
Pick my pick back up. That's almost a tongue twister.

I'm with Wes on this. At some point I stopped worrying about picks -- dropping, losing and the like. If I happen to drop the rare one, I make do with fingers or a coin or whatever until I can retrieve one. Learning to play well with one's fingers is a big help in the pickless situation. Also, I use heavy picks, so they never break, but just sort of slowly bend out of shape.
Don't seem to lose picks that much anymore either. I realized the other day that if I'm buying a pick, it's almost always an impulse buy 'cause something looks cool or unusual.
-=tension & release=-
I just tape them to my forehead. Good thing I'm losing my hair, now I can get more picks up there.
