G'day peeps, ever done something like this??

Well after eight months of saving, my 14 y/o bass player wannabe son, had finally saved enough cabbage to buy a bass & practice amp. (I had made a deal with him to test his keen-ness, if he saved half I would pay half). So my mate and I took him down to our local guitar shop. We had a great couple of hours, playing this guitar and that, my mate was thinking about getting a little acoustic amp (as we both play acoustics) so we played with them too. I had always wanted a Fender Telecaster so I asked if the bloke would set one of them up as well. Loved it.

Anyway, to cut an even longer story short (....is it too late for that?) Our purpose was a bass and amp, which we got ($550) and the lad is happy.
But how happy is Daddio :D I got the nod from my lovely wife for the Fender Tele in sunburst with Fender hardcase and a 2nd hand Fender Princeton 112 Plus. Yippee :D I love my life.........

Had to tell someone!!!!!!! And I knew you guys would appreciate my joy.

Anyway, got to go plug her in.

If it's free its for me........... and I'll take three!

Well, it sounds like congrats are in order for both you and your son. Seems like you both hit the jackpot today.

Good luck and enjoy :!:

Been thinking about a Tele myself. I second (or 3rd?) the request for pics and more info!

Also, could you ask your wife to call mine and tell her it's OK to have more gear than you really need? Thanks!

Aren't they lovely? Great that your son wants to learn bass, nice little duo :)

I'm jealous! A Tele is next on my list. So far, the girlfriend hasn't given me the nod though (we live together, so major purchases are discussed). She keeps giving me the "Learn to play the two you already have first" reason. :D

Anyway, nice axe and enjoy it!

What kind of bass did your son get?

What happened to the Boy and his Bass? Jeez, give the man a Tele and he forgets about his entire family.

Just teasing...

Congrats to all. Time to start jamming!

She's a beauty. Can you tell us more specifics about what model, etc.? I'm a Tele-newbie and am just curious. Thanks

Nice deal - now, what you need to do is convince the wife that playing drums is a really good cure for all those "women's things"

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
