Black metal, doom metal and neo-classical shreddy stuff. I usually play bass for people, but always feel more at home on the guitar.
Lately I am trying to play jazz standards, chord melody. It's always funny to look for the best sounding voicing.
But I played different styles (and instruments).
I make my living playing pop, rock, etc. in my band... And as a solo act playing acoustic guitar... And whether in the studio, or in other band that I hire out to, I've played everything from country to bluegrass to metal!
I make it a point to try to learn from all styles of music... Every genre of music has something to offer to you as a guitarist and musician... Even music that doesn't use guitars! So when someone asks me "what kind of music do you play?" My "tongue in cheek" reply is, "I tend to specialize in music based on the Ancient Greek 12-note scale."
I play the piano.
Thanks for this topic.
I like all discussions.
Thanks for the welcome.
I am currently trying to make a name i Norway playing original country / honky tonk songs in norwegian.
Played in a "bluegrass" band earlier.
...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...
