I have an Ibanez GRG 170. Great guitar. I do not have an amp yet though. Just practicing. I hear some buzzing on the 5th string 3rd fret and 6th string 12th fret. I am aware that most electrics lose this buzzing sound when pluuged into an amp. Is this a major problem though? If so, what should I tell the repair person to look at?
The strings on an electric a quite soft and tend to vibrate into the frets making a horrible soound. Its not a bad thing if you can't hear it through an amp.

It can depend on how hard your hitting the strings. I've been known to get a little buzzed even with an amp..lol

I also just bought an ibanez. Had this problem even when it was pluged into an amp. Take it back to the store and have them adjust the action. The guy there told me ibanez tends to make the action a little to low from the factory.
