Hey everyone, I am new here.
I started playing guitar about three months ago and I recently broke my string. My friend donated his nice EXTRA ebony strings but I managed to mess it up by not knowing how to string a guitar. You can proly tell by the topic title what kind of guitar I own so I was wondering if anyone could walk me through the process? I tried a couple of online guides before stinging the first time but they were for a different types of guitars. If you can point me to something like a video or pictures that that would be even better because the chances of me messing up again will be slim.

Thanks, Mo.

um, I don't have any pics or videos (really sorry about that, my pops was fortunately around and able to guide me in learning to restring and I know how much of a pain it is to learn!). But make sure you only restring one string at a taime - don't remove all the strings at once or the bridge will slide out and you might alter the set up trying to put it back together.

hope this site helps though - http://home.nycap.rr.com/nils/GuitarStringing.htm (and thanks to whoever posted this site's page on setups last week or so - great find mate)

you want to do option 1 (I can honestly say that I've not had any problems with my strings using option 1 and I know pro's who also string/have their guitar techs string their guitars using option 1 - not that there's any problems with the other 2 options, just saying option 1 is more than sufficient for an LP).

hope this helps.

is it your site? massive props for doing it, I had one 'guide' on doing setups for a strat already, but it didn't have as much detail as that one, its really well composed. I might even get around to trying the 'fancy ways' of restringing myself next time my string need changing. :D
