My bridge pickup on my 1960 Valco Airline Town and Country is about half as loud as my neck pickup.

What could be the cause?

Also, it is the opposite on my Gibson SG. My neck pickup is the quiet one and the bridge pickup is loud.

Try raising it, or the poles. It sounds as if it's too low. I can just barely hear it from here. Welcome to the forum finnie! :D

They are raised pretty high...

I'm thinking something is a little off with the wiring. The volume knob for the bridge pickup doesn't do anything.

Also when I adjust the tone knob for the bridge pickup it seems to help with the volume when the tone is turned down. When I turn the tone up that what seems to be the problem... the sound just thins out and isn't very loud.
