Hi everyone,
I've recently found a split in the rear side of the neck of my LAG T100DCE, near the head, which has rendered it useless! It's only 6 months old but LAG shan't replace it under warranty as the break is not on a joining line - they argue it must have been dropped (not on my watch!).
Has anyone had success gluing a cracked guitar neck back together, or perhaps using some long, thin screws to hold it in place? I think the neck is mahogany and the fret board is rosewood, but the split hasn't affected the fret board (yet). The crack isn't wide - I'd like to post a picture but I don't think I can directly on to this forum...
Thanks in advance guys.
Simon
I've seen some luthiers put a guitar back together to the point where it is difficult to see the break. So depending on the nature of the break, it might be possible.

Sorry!!
Screws: an emphatic NO. That would be an unmitigated disaster.
If you are looking to do it yourself, at least consult with a luthier before proceeding. Guitar necks are precision woodworking. You must be able to inject glue deep into the split (syringes work here) and then clamp the wood so it is absolutely in line. If the glue dries and anything is out of alignment, you'll be paying for a new neck and headstock.
Best of luck!
