What are the main advantages and disadvantages to having jumbo and small frets?

It seems to be a matter of personal taste and comfort, at least from what I can tell. I have guitars with jumbo frets and others with small frets. I can play the same things on both. But, some people may prefer larger frets for bending, for the same reason some like scalloped fretboards. Personally, I like the feel of medium sized frets.

It is very much personal preference, however, wide frets can have intonation issues, but make bending easier. Taller frets can be very easy to fret, but if you squeeze too hard you can actually pull your chords out of tune. I have guitars with both and like CFB I have no problems. Jumbo frets can live through several fret dressings. The smaller ones have less material to work with so could need to be replaced sooner. I would never worry about that though. I'd just try a guitar with each extreme and see what feels better and go from there. I like both. 8)
