i apologize if there is already a thread about this...

i was wondering if anyone knows how to do a guitar setup for an electric, and an acoustic-electro. I've changed string guages a couple times on each, so I'm guessing it's time for a setup? The low 'e' on my electric goes out of tune after one song, so i'm guessing this is the case. my acoustic-electro sounds okay for now, but i'm planning to switch guages back to 10's (from 11's).

Or maybe it's just easier to bring it into the shop?

Click the setup link under the maintenance section on Nils' page:

You can take it to the shop, but it's good to learn how to do a basic setup.

Low E going out of tune may not be related to the setup though. More likely a bad string, or it's new and still stretching out, or your stringing method needs improvement. Nils' site has several methods for restringing, and some help "lock" the strings better than others.

Nils is a GN forum member as well.

Hope that's helpful!
