I have a Squier '51 and obviously that doesn't have a "hole" for a tremolo...and it's just a regular bridge. So obviously I'd need a new bridge, and a tremolo...but how complicated would this be? Is it as simple as taking off my current bridge, and putting the other one together, or is it something I'd need to get setup?
I'm really interested in doing this, depending on the cost and how tough it'd be.
Thanks.
Drilling, Routing, if you go the route of a tradional Fender style Trem. Perhaps, you could make a Bigsby work, but I'm not sure which model specifically would work.
It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
Kev, a few people have put Bigsby and other trems on their '51s. You should check out the Shop Talk section at the '51 modders forum for info.

+1 on Bigsby. FWIW, I have one in my parts stash that along with some D'Armond style pups is destined for a Squier 51 that's gonna get an orange paint job.
