ibanez bass problem

i traded my skateboard for an ibanez bass and rivera amp the guy thought it was all junk because the amp made little sound but it was a bad cable from the head to the cab the amps good could use new tubes but shes quite old the bass only the rytem pickup works not the treble i donno if its a volume pot or what but the wires are all conectted good and this bass has an on switch wich is powered by a 9v battery active pickups i belive but the rytem pickup seems to distorted with this on. id like to fine out what year this bass is. it says artist on the truss cover. the bass is on the right
