it looks like it's just pushed in the hole on the body.  i haven't pulled it all the way out, but from the way it slides in and out, i would think it's not screwed in.

Is the jack on the front or the side?  I have to check the jack on one of my guitars when I finish playing to make sure the nut is tight.  It occasionally works itself loose.  I think it's possible to get a locking nut put on them to avoid that problem.

If the jack's on the front, then all bets are off.  I'm not quite sure how those are set up.

the jack is on the side.

i did some looking around at stewart-macdonald and i think i might have found the solution to the problem - an electrosocket - http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Hardware,_parts/Bass:_Covers_plates/Electrosocket_Jack_Plates.html
