Well recently I got a new guitar and although I'm not expecting to have perfect intonation across the whole neck, i don't feel 25-40 cent sharp at the 24th fret to be acceptable, lol.
It did have set of 9's on to start with but i changed those to 10 to 52's. So i've already tried adjusting the truss rod, intonation screws, saddle height. Currently i can't think of anything else i could try to get it more playable.. and would prefer not to pay £50-60 to have it sorted, anyone have any ideas?

Just play slide on it above the 12th fret. :D

Slide doesn't really fit in with my style of playing :p

Have you tried it with the 9s that came on it, to see if it intonates better?

Nope, bit late to do that now too, lol

Hmmm ... I have a couple of 24 fret guitars and I have never checked the intonation at the 24th fret. I don't think I care to now. For each given string guage, there will be one action or string height at which the intonation will be on at both the 12th and 24th fret .... no? I suppose you have to find that action and be happy with it, or be happy with the upper frets being out a bit.

Play everything up there a fret lower and bend up to it.

Truth be told, I think I bend most notes I play up there anyhow ........ all while making my Sgt. Fury guitar face.
