Hi,

My neck pickup on my strat is no longer working. What can I do to sort it?

I have changed the bridge for a humbucker so I have a pickup I can exchange it with. How much would that cost to get repaired do you think?

Have you opened it up to see if there's a loose wire? Might be a very simple fix.

I haven't no. I'm technically completely useless!! I'm afraid if I open it up I won't be able to put it back together!!

No need to panic - its most likely a loose connection on your pickup selector switch - a pickup failure is very rare.

Its a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself.

it is not an overly techincal situation.
you can remove the screws from the pickguard and lift the entire works from the guitar body.
simply look for the wires, tracing them to the connections they make.
one of those wires is loose.

once discovered it isnt too difficult to resolder it to the connection again.
now if you do not want to put a hot pointy iron into your guitar a guitar tech could remedy in quick time.
I imagine they charge a minimum fee.
do not fret; all is not lost.
