hey...I've got a Fender 60's Reissue (the Mexican sort), and I'm wanting to put a pearloid pickguard on it. Only problem is, it's got the truss-rod that's adjustable at the body and so I'm assuming a regular Fender pickguard won't fit. Am I wrong?

...and if not, can anybody tell me where I can get a pickguard that WILL fit?

the strat pickguards on stewmac (at least the ones I'm looking at...) look exactly the same as Fender or any other sort...and the 60's Reissue at least LOOKS like it needs a notch or something for the truss rod.

what I need to know is, do I *need* a different pickguard? if not, will a regular pickguard fit without modification? if not, how hard should it be to "modify" a pickguard?

sorry the link wasnt exactly perfect.
however, you can modify pick guards. using a sharp exacto or ultility blade you can trim away what you dont need. you can repolish the edge then with a soft wheel brush or very carefully flame the edge smooth.
Ive used very fine sandpaper to smooth edges on pick guards I have made.
it just takes careful work.

You may want to check the perimeter holes
