I just recently bought a new pickgaurd for my 1963 Kay vanguard and but I cant seem to get the pick up screws on each end out of the pick up. Its a super stupid question but I have no Idea how to take them out or if I need some special tool. Im not sure if its a screw or some sort of rivet. If anyone who has worked with these guitars before could help that would be awesome.

I've had experience with these guitars, but I would be lying if I pretended to have a definitive answer for you. It should just be a flat head screw going through the current pick guard, through the pickup and to a nut. Take the scratch plate off and look from behind... All will be revealed. If that doesn't work, show us a pic of the problem.
