I bought some pickups from a buddy, he sold me a set of Fender Fat 50 Custom Shop pickups plus the pots and switch from his American Strat. THe problem is he just gave me the guts without any idea of which pickup is the bridge and which is the neck. The way it's wired (the way it seems to fit on the pickguard logically) leads me to believe that the one with a Red Dot is the bridge, the Blue Dot is the neck. I am not sure if that's standard coloring or just a shop technique.
Does anyone know how I can find out for sure which pickup is meant for the bridge?
Thanks in advance.
If the installation was factory done, the pickup with the longest connecting wires is the neck.
If not, the neck pickup is slightly narrower than the other two. Iirc, the bridge (and middle) is (are) spaced 52.5mm and the neck 50.5mm.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Nice, THanks
I also found some wiring diagrams on Fender's site. Red dot means bridge, Blue is Neck and no Dot is middle.
