I'm going to change the tuners to locking on my Les Paul copy and it's a toss up between the two. I'm leaning toward the Schallers because you can get replacement knobs in either ebony or pearloid. Are there any drawbacks to either of the two or is this a toss-up, thanks.

I've used Sperzels on my guitar for 10 years and I've been really happy with them. They look nice and they work GREAT.

I've used both and both seem solid. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

As a third option, I've also used Grover auto-lock tuners (for a Hamer with 3x3 tuners) and they worked very well and were $10 cheaper than the Schaller and Sperzels.

If I had to make a decision I'd probably go with the Sperzels.
