Hi everyone,
I just bought a Simon & Patrick Vintage Burst Cedar Parlor. The strings are unused but a couple years old so I want to replace them. I use D'Addario EJ lights on my S&P rosewood/spruce dread, and like them. But this guitar is much smaller and has a cedar top. any thoughts on strings? (I know how subjective this topic can be. Just looking for suggestions, so play nice!)
thanks,
craig

For reference, this is what's on it from the factory. (Phosphor-bronze 12-53, "light")

In the FAQ, they say there is no problem going up or down 1 gauge from there.

Maybe try a fresh set of the same as what's on it, and see what you think, then try the ones you already use (assuming the gauge is appropriate).

I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head
So I looked like I was deep

yep, I was aware of the recommended strings. In fact Godin recommends the same strings for all of its acoustic guitars, regardless of body type or tonewood used. Maybe that's the best to use, they are identical in gauge range to the EJ Lights I've used for years on my S&P dread. Just curious if something different might be called for with the small body and cedar top of the parlor.
