The inevitable will happen as soon as I hit the submit button: I'll cross the final line between a sane forum-goer and a crazy GN addict. So with what little sanity I have left I would like to use this Big Step For Mankind moment to thank all the people here. I started the guitar july 23rd, 2003, and GN has been my number one resource. I honestly could not imagine where I would have been now otherwise, so a massive Thank You to all of you!

And to further celebrate this legendary moment here's a new album. Those who follow all posts here already now the tracks, and those who haven't can catch up now. It's fairly mainstream this time, focussing on guitar and vocal improvisations. With over 17 tracks I hope some of you will be able to find something enjoyable. :)

01. The Ba-Di-Dap Blues
02. Muziekje in de Nacht
03. Ik Ben De Koning Van Belgie
04. Is This Still Blues
05. Het Onmogelijke
06. Gratis Enzo
07. Indienfahrt
08. De Berend Botje Blues
09. War Woman Withdrawal
10. De Overkant (vaarwel)
11. Mooi Weekend
12. Koffie Koffie Koffie
13. Achter de glasbak
14. Ik Heb Niks En Jij Wel
15. Just When You Think It's Over
16. Steek De Ogen Uit Mijn Hoofd
17. Me And Some Wood

You can download the full album in a ZIP archive at http://www.sleutelbos.com . For those who don't want/can't/won't/whatever do that you can listen to them all and download the individual tracks over at http://www.soundclick.com/sleutelbos

Not really. I had a keybord when I was young, but gave up on it after the helicopter sounds got boring, never learned even the simplest of melodies. I dusted it off and started playing that a year after I started guitar. Hard to explain but the guitar really created a general passion for music that I didn't know was there. :)

i think it's more about being creative.

i have a hard time getting creative on the guitar because the learning curve is steep and i feel that i have to "learn" it first. i know that idea is wrong but i'm caught up in learning it first.

someone i know was supposed to give me a keyboard but it never happened.....

I cannot believe the number of posts I have made. guitar noise addict it says.
it is hard to believe you are so 'new' at music. you sound like a mature artist.
must be the water.

I enjoy your work immensely and look forward to listening to the album.

How the hec did you manage to get that much music down and amount the knowledge that you have in only 4 years of playing :? :? :?

I've been at it for 5 years now and still consider myself a beginner.
Do you not have a day job

Please bear in mind I hold you in the greatest of esteem.

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

Grats Arjen - ever since I've been here you've been one of the most contributive members of the forum, with your opinions, knowledge, help, and especially your music. It's great to have you at GN, and to be honest, we already knew you were musically insane. :P

Wow. Congratulations Arjen. I've listened to a lot of your stuff since joining GN and I can't believe you've only been playing for 4 years. Way to go. Keep up the great work. I'll give the album a download and listen to it over the next day or two.

Here's to the next four years.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.
