My sister thought it would be funny if I "Rick Roll" the crowd on Saturday night....so I figured I'd try to come up with an arrangement of it since there wasn't anything online. I think this came out okay....it's still REALLY REALLY rough, but I just sat down with it today.
Any thoughts on how to improve it a bit? It's in it's beginning stage I know. I'm not going for the entire song, in fact it's going to interrupt "Beat It" if I do it. So this is the only part I'd be playing.

Thanks for any input! Oh, and if you don't know what a Rick Roll is go here:

To be honest, even knowing the song, I didn't hear it. I think the joke may be lost.
Check this vid out for ideas:

If you start a really recognizable fingerstyle song and then immediately switch to where the vid is at about 17 seconds in I think you could get a good reaction.
This little snippit of tab off their site may give you some idea of the notes...

Either I mis-understood you, or you mis-understood my post, this wasn't the Rick Roll, this was just my arrangement of the song.
Unless you couldn't tell that it was the song...then that's bad...I think it was pretty on, but I've played it over and over during the past day, so it might sound different to me. So I'm hoping it sounds right LOL, but if not, then I'll adjust.
I plan on doing it during Beat It on Saturday.
I took a look at that site, and it's really cool! I've seen it on youtube and thought it was all ads to buy stuff so never paid much attention.
I looked at the tab there, and actually, there is alot of the same notes, but played differently, like the beginning. Instead of
----------------
----------------3
----5------------
-----------3-----
---5------------
-----------------3
I play it like this
-------------------------
-----------------x----3
--------5--------x-----
--------0--------x-----

Thanks for taking a listen and for your feedback.

The New York Mets baseball team had a major sense of humour failure when the vote for the new team song got Rick-rolled the other year - they even refused to honour the results; boo hiss.
It's an excellent idea, Joe; anybody who doesn't get the joke is just brain dead.

No insult on your playing or arranging intended... sorry if it came across that way,
I thought you were meant to be playing a different song and then suddenly jumping into a "rick roll"... that is what I didn't hear.
Of course I could hear your playing Never Gonna Give You Up... I just didn't hear the transition at the beginning that I thought you were trying to do - the surprise.

No worries, man, I was just making sure I understood you that's all, sorry if it came off wrong, wasn't the intent.
