I wanted to hear what it sounded like from the other side of the guitar, so I recorded a real quick demo of the first :45 or so of Beat It. This is the arrangement I'm using, I wish I could play like the others LOL.

It's still newly learned, but I think it's coming along. I've got a month to get it LOL.

Great job, as usual!

It sounds 'strange' to me. Perhaps I am used to that bass line and Eddie Van Halen work.
I will wait for final version!
Good stuff. Keep at it!
Joe, at around the 40second mark, the bass line and the melody part really both come across really well. it must have been hard to get those parts to sound clearly at the same time. looking forward to the full version.
edit: i think what i meant to say is "are you using an "independant thumb" for the bassline? (i think thats the term, im sure somebody else can phrase my question better).
"I like to play that guitar. I have to stare at it while I'm playing it because I'm not very good at playing it."
Noel Gallagher (who took the words right out of my mouth)

I think Joe is just getting the notes down... once he has the rhythm down, it will be great.
Joe, check out this video for inspiration, then get your head and shoulders rocking the beat out...! Wearing a hat like that might help too :)

Good job. Some wild pants you got there. :D
Hey thanks guys!
Yeah missing the Eddie Van Halen part is big for alot of people. It's not here for this though.
I'm still working to get the end part of the video, and I've added some harmonic strums as well that I think sound really neat with it.
But thanks alot, it's kind of wierd, but when you are trying to play this, you are really just moving your thumb between two strings, but it's hard as hell to coordinate, and it doesn't look like it should be that hard on paper.

Nice work...I really enjoy your stuff! ....Dan
