Thanks, TR, boxboy, and Joe . . . for the encouragement.
I like those 'campfire' songs.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

Whoop whoop whoop - way to go Ken (KR2 that is...)...

If I still played and practiced I'd be as good as you now... :(

Keep working on the capo shift (although you seem to have the barre chords pretty much sorted now so can't see why you should need to move the capo) - Marc Bolan used the capo a lot and got it down to a fine art... I'm sure I read that somewhere...

Anyhows - don't know what made me return to beginners videos... just a little homesick I suppose...

Rock on!

Hello everybody, it's certainly been a while!

I just got a Zoom Q3 for my birthday last week, to help me with my recordings. It's a lot better than using your built-in laptop mics, that's for sure! Very happy with it.

Anyways, to test it out I recorded a song I wrote. It's still a work in progress, as I haven't finished the lyrics for the bridge and the final verse, but the general framwork is of it all is in place!

I couldn't get it to play, LC.
I got the spinny buffering icon and then nothing. Anything other vid I clicked in the sidebar played fine, so maybe double check your settings?
:)

Hmm, not sure what that is about boxboy. Works on both my computers? :?

Here's another recording of the same song, for those who couldn't get the YouTube video to work!

I know it's desecration of nice melody but effect is interesting in my opinion;p
What you think about it?

Okay... after flaffing about for longer than I care to mention, I have finally managed to sing and play through a whole song.

I promised myself I would one day post something here.

Be gentle.

Be gentle.

Why? It was refreshingly different - well done.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Great to see this thread back up and running. )
Nice job, BK! It started well and got progressively better.
I really like your voice. Great timbre and musicality. You had some great moments where you played with the phrasing tempo a bit, those were my faves. Really made it come alive.
More please. :)
