Cool song vic, kept my attention throughout the piece. :D Mix-wise you might want to pan some instruments a bit more, the center is getting kinda crowded and starts to blur a bit. That's about the only suggestion I can think of right now. Oh, as for the .aup file, have you tried renaming your backup file to the old name? Audacity has a data folder where all bits and parts are stored and he aup files must be linked to the correct data. If you just rename it audacity will attempt to find data in a folder that never existed in the first place.
Vic, this sounds awesome. Really like it a lot, great feel to it. The only thing I don't like is the drum track, it's killing me. Maybe it's just too loud in the mix? I'm not sure, I love the song other than that though. Could be just the speakers on my laptop, I'll listen again in a bit.
Yup, great stuff Vic! 8)

"Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution"
Awesome job, I love it!
so many places that are hard to see
so many places that aren't
so many places we want to be
so many times we are not
I've only got a few pre-programmed drum tracks on my keyboard - and most of those are pretty similar.....
And I have no intentions of buying a drum kit.....I'm not a drummer, and never will be able to cope with that kind of mentality - seems drummers are born, not made, to me....bless 'em
I could try and use the drum pads on said keyboard - but again, the best person to do that would be an honest-to-goodness drummer, someone who actually understands drums......and rhythm.....and has good timing....
:D :D :D

Vic I listened again and it really is great. Couldn't hear the bass before because of my speakers. The vocals sound very good, love the 2 layering idea hear. The piano part is simple, catchy, and fits really well. Love the lead guitar, not fast or too technical, but the notes you're playing combined with the vibrato make it very melodic, reminiscent of a one, 'slowhand' that I'm a fan of.
As a Billy Joel fan, I hear a lot of ballads  . yours is very good Vic, would love to hear it done in a studio  .

Vic, sounds great. I was thinking it was reminiscent of Eric Clapton. My son came in and thought it sounded a bit like something off my John Lennon 'best of'. You can't go wrong in company like that.
Nice job Vic!
I agree that it's a great job, but this sounds almost exactly like "If I Were A Carpenter" to me. Am I the only one? I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just don't want you getting sued.
Sorry man, but I have to agree with todds. The chord changes, the words, and the melody all shout "If I were a Carpenter". I'm pretty sure it's close enough to get you in to court, if not convicted of plagiarism. Too bad, because I like the song.
Hear a strange version of it here: http://www.jacquedee63.com/carpenter.html
It ain't what you play man, its how you play it.

Maybe if he was selling an album, but he's not.
I hear the similarity, and like Vic, I'd call it vague. Hadn't heard the carpenter song before, checked out a few versions and there are some similarities, but there's a totally different feel to Vic's song.
Okay, my mistake.

this is really well done, my favorite one you've done yet.
