Could not make a birthday party, so decided at the last minute that I would record a parody blues thing for him. My wife brought it on her lap-top and played for everyone. I had under an hour to write it (the lyrics) and record it. Recording quality is the only thing worse than my singing voice, but how else do you roast a dear friend when you're stuck at home on an ice-pack?

Um.....enjoy?

Oh, lyrics:

Timmy's Birthday Blues

'Ol Timmy's gettin' older, but looking oh so fine
'Ol Timmy's gettin' older, but looking oh so fine
He's wearing that family kilt,
All the men say "he's mine!"

'Ol Timmy's got a birthday, the years go flying by
'Ol Timmy's got a birthday, the years go flying by
She say she wants to use candles,
but the fireman say, "no, not this time"

Happy birthday, Timmy, I hope you have a real good time
Happy birthday, Timmy, I hope you have a real good time
You might leak more than your Harley, but Denise say
"that's just fine!"

    Yeah, talk about a dubious honor.

OK, in about the span of 2 minutes I have come up with a few points or topics I could exploit. Minnesota-----dogbite---frostbite -------- brats -------- polka. Bam. It'd have to be a polka song. I don't know how to play any Polka though. Doh!

Just outside having a smoke when it hit me. The Tic Toc Polka would be the perfect candidate for a birthday spoof - Polka Style. The first line of the spoof that came to mind wasn't family (or really, anyone) friendly though.
