Hi all,

The idea was to play some blues bass lines. I was experimenting with different arpeggios and I'd want to record it. Finally I added some guitars as well. I made the drum track with GarageBand from scratch. I'd want a simple shuffle rhythm, the standard drum tracks are very busy.

I just did a couple of takes for the bass, mainly by experimenting with the pickups. I needed more than one hour for recording the guitars... and I don't like them. :?

I guess something is happening...

Comments on mixing are also welcome.

Thanks!

PS. Does anybody want to play some lead guitar?

Works for me. :) I'll see if I can add something tomorrow, my brains are fried for the night. Would it be okay to try some vocals, too?

Would love to hear it a bit more developed (vocals and stuff).

Of course, Sir! And keyboards, too! Please, feel free to add anything!

Even we could make it longer if needed!

I tried to maintain a "standard" blues. The initial idea was to play also some lead but I think it is better and much more fun that all we collaborate. I always get very positive feedback when I do it.

Thanks, Sir! You show me the right path. It is easier in that way. I was using your favorite strat position in one of the guitar tracks. I learned how to use it... I'm learning how to use it. :D

On the bass. I used a different patch this time and it already had the mids slightly reduced.

It is curious... usually we increase the mids on the guitar for leading (it is a general advice) and it seems interesting to reduce them in bass. I'll think on it. :?:

Nice backing track Nuno! 8)

I might have some time to lay down some lead guitar too. :)

Thanks Dan! :D

Perfect! Add also some lead guitar! If we need more 'room' and I'll be the track longer. The rhythm guitar is easy to "cut&paste" and the bass line is easy to record again.

Thanks! :D

I agree it might be interesting to hear the interpretations. If I receive the tracks I'll a new mix with all. Or if everyone works alone, I'll put links to the other threads.

Here's my take on it. I post it myself because it needs to be modified if people are going to add electric guitar, which is much faster done by me editing the midi track then by having nuno cut&paste actual audio.

[edit]Cubase automatically ID-tagged the song as written by me. Fixed it, uploading new version.
