Wow!
What a great reinvention of one of my all time favourite soul songs.
Just fantastic, top to bottom, and your best vocals yet.
Downloaded and in the playlist... 8)

thanks for the listen. again, I learned a bit more about recording doing this old song.
more blues coming.
I like it, too. :D
I never heard the song (like Dan) and I was hearing the original in YouTube and I prefer your version. 8)
BTW, did you already select the blues? Could I give another name? I was playing Messin' with the kid this weekend and it is very fun (at least from the bass point of view).
The video is part of a John Mayall DVD that I got this summer. The audio/video quality is not so good (it is an old recording) but the players and singers are amazing.
nuno, I have a few in mind. Messin with the Kid would be too hard for me to sing. the Blues Brosthers covered it well. I am afraid if I attempted that song I would subconsciously channel John Belushi.
Blue Jeans are blue.
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
oh yeah. that is sweet. you must think I can play the guitar. I will look into that for sure.
Oh Brother DVD is coming to my house tonight. possible recording maybe?, Ken.
Muddy Waters is calling me out. I found something with a cool time sig.
Allright!

Hey dog, great stuff. The recording quality was very good.
Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.
thanks for the nods boys.
wow nice song men.. very nice stuff
i have never heard of Solomon Burke but i do like this. you seem to consistantly come up with high quality recordings - what software do you use??
"I like to play that guitar. I have to stare at it while I'm playing it because I'm not very good at playing it."
Noel Gallagher (who took the words right out of my mouth)
I record with a PC using Cubase essential 4, a Lexicon USB digital interface. 80's strat plus DI ed into the interface.
the mike is a CAD GXL2200 large condenser (under 100$). I also have ezdrummer.
in this recording I duplicated the guitar and vocal tracks. panning them apart I delayed the copy tracks a bit. gives the project huge headroom or reverb feel. with each of my recording I try to learn something new about the recording program,
Solomon Burke wrote many r and b /soul songs. the Blues Bros covered much of his song book.
thanks fo0r the listen.
Very good. I really enjoyed listening to it.
