Tone warriors,

Looking for your help in deciding which tone is best for my cover of Pink Floyd's classic "Dogs".

Dry/Lo-Gain: https://soundcloud.com/stephan-mathos/dry-solo-original-tone/s-QC9IK

Rotary/Hi-Gain: https://soundcloud.com/stephan-mathos/dry-solo-feb16-2/s-jSVTE

Which version sounds better? Thanks in advance for any and all input!

To my ears the original sounds better. Although the second version sounds like how David Gilmour might play the song live these days. On his recent live album he made a few solos a bit heavier: Echoes, Time and Comfortably Numb come to mind. I like your first version, but the second could sound great played live.
