A song I made a while ago. Finally decided to pick up a decent mic and preamp. Made this quick recording as soon as I got home!

I have a nasty cold so couldn't sing it in the key I originally wrote it in. This is kind of a rough version.

Any tips how I can mix it down better for the next recording session to make it sound better?

That sounds fantastic. I love a good condenser mic. You have a great voice too dude. The vocals should be a touch louder in the verse I think. Sounds amazing though.

Nice recording. I would bring up the low mids (just a guess) on the guitar and lower the guitar volume a bit. Maybe a bit of compression and reverb on the overall mix. NIce playing, good song. Is it a cover ? Sounds kind of like the GooGoo Dolls to me.

Thanks for the critique. I will remember that when I do a more serious recording of it.

And no, it's not a cover.

I really like that. You've got a great sound. Try and get the vocals higher than the guitar though, they're great!
