A few months ago, in februari, I finished my last project, so it was time to start a new one. And hurray, it seems to be done now. It's a three-piece project, or album, and each part has it's own 'sound'. Part one (The Red Cat Philosophies) is very much guitar-based, mostly improvised and contains only non-dutch texts. The second part (De Oranje Ortolaan) is more electronic-pop, half-composed half improvised and all in Dutch. The final part (Quella Banana Gialla) is classical, without text and is mostly composed. All parts are one big track as I feel it makes no sense to listen to just part of it, plus they are small enough to be listen to in one time. Click on the images to download the music. Hope people can find something they like in it!

02. Sura al Araf

07. De Professor Struikelt
08. Lekkere Koalabeer

Sorry, each project is just one track, lasting between 17 and 24 minutes. I'll just let this run for a week or so and then I'll cut out the IMHO most interesting parts and put them on soundclick. Thanks for the interest!

That is so cool man. I love the seemlessness (is that a word?). You have incredible talent. I might be burning this one to a CD to take to work.

Just listened to Red Cat Philosophies.

First Impressions:

I've gotta listen to this again when I can crank it up loud.

It's not something for casual listening.

It flies in the face of everything I know of composition and songwriting.

It offends and disrupts my sensibilities of what's "proper" music, and makes me re-think a few things - things I might be wrong about.

It moves me on a visceral, emotional level.

It's a true work of art, and I'm going to have to contemplate it for a while.

Playing guitar and never playing for others is like studying medicine and never working in a clinic.

It sent me a "RAR" file. It won't play on any of my players. Any Ideas?

Hilch/Ken: It's a *rar file, the world's most used archived extension. You can download WinRar here: http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar361.exe (1mb). Then just double click on any rar file and it opens it. Inside you'll find the MP3 file plus the cover in higher detail. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Jim: Cool, glad you liked it. :) Feel free to pass it around to collegues if you think one of them might like it.

Moonrider: Thanks! Really great to hear it has that effect on you. Feel welcome to let me know how it sounds cranked. 8)

Thanks for yout time everyone!

I got the first two sections downloaded and on a disk. You might consider putting a 252 kps mp3 version on BOX NET for us old farts who just recently got rid of out LP collections  But now I can get RAR files, so that worked out good.

Gave it a quick listen, I think I really like it so far but I'll give it a good uninterrupted listen in the car tomorrow. You might be one of the few musicians left in the world that are doing concept albums 8) I find the mood is a bit dark (in a good way) definitely has its own feel to it. Lots of cool sounds here, kinda like 1960's pink Floyd meets a delightfully demented classical composer

Oh yeah...The guitar parts are good also

I was able to listen to the Red Cat Philosophies, however I couldn't download your other two pieces without becoming a 'premium member' on that site. I'll try again later to download those.

I liked the first half of the Red Cat Philosophies a lot. There was nice variation and experimentation going on. The transition from Bush's speech was sublime too. The second half wasn't quite to my tastes with the exception of the piano piece (around 18') which was a joy.

Have you ever made a post detailing your work flow? I'd be really interested to hear what instruments/tools/software you use.

Anyways, excellent job (as always). I'm definitely going to check out the other 2 when I can.
Thanks for sharing!

Well i've only listened to part 1 but wow. This is the most complete artistic statement i've heard on here. The way you keep using the speech to guide the mood is just great.

Also I had always thought of you more of a piano player and composer, but this really showcases some great guitar work also! I recognizes some of the song names it will be intresting to hear them all together. You should be proud, this is awsome.

Have you ever used an e-bow? I was using one all weekend they are great, I think youd really enjoy what they can make the electric guitar do.

The project is just so ambitious, risky, and unique, really great job!
