This is the solo from the Journey hit "Who's Crying Now". I learned it from an old Marc Seal "Guitar Mania" lesson which I have on CD.
I played it with my Ibanez Artist and a patch I made on my GT-6. I use the neck humbucker for the beginning and end, and the bridge for the middle.
Please critique....and happy 4th of July everyone!
Dave that was simply AWESOME! You have the tone down perfect too! Gotta love the V-Amp!! Would you mind posting the tab for that solo? I have been trying to learn solos and that sounds fairly simple to play.
Thanks!!
You nailed it! 8)
Sweet patch you made too, the tone is perfect. :D
I have the GT-6 also. What settings did you use if you don't mind me asking?

That sounds stellar! Well done. I wouldn't mind seeing the tabs to that either...though I should just try and figure it out by ear *grumble, grumble*

Copy what the people above me said. :)
As for some critique: both your vibrato and bending seem to be somewhat underdeveloped compared to your other skills. The bends are off about half the time and the vibrato seems a bit weak and absent at times. From the way it sounds I guess it's not as much as strength-related problem but more technique. I know this is nitpicking in a way but if you can improve in these two areas I think you have all skills a good lead player needs. :D
AWESOME :D What Arjen said is true but hey...there is ALWAYS room for improvement--the dog
Very, VERY, good!!! take a bow!!!
dude! that's wicked, i loved the stairway solo too, where do you get there wicked backing tracks?
Rock, dude it sounds great. I thought all your recordings sounded good, I especially dug the chili peppers tunes allong with stairway. Can't wait to hear more. I too would like to know where you find sweet backing tracks like that.
Thanks! Most of the backing tracks I get from Total Guitar Magazine, which is based in the UK. It costs an arm and a leg to subscribe....you can usually find them at Barnes and Noble too.
I haven't recorded in a while because I've been jamming with some new friends and frantically learning new songs. It's a real blast!
WOW that was saweet, NICE job!
I am gonna go practice some more.

I listened to a few of the other recordings, too.
Nice work!
Guess I need lots more practice, too.
