- deep breath - OK

OK,
Have started a recording of 'hideaway' (originally Bluesbreakers / E.C.) -

1. Equipment: USB soundcard, audacity, fender thinline telecaster ("bass", rhythm and lead), distortion pedal

2. Choice of song: This one is awesome (well, the original recording that is ). Have played around with it during the summer holidays. Have gotten something of a grip on some parts of it, but even then, it seems impossible to record it and play all parts the best I can in one shot. Haven't really found a way to deal with the tempo change in the middle either. The bass track and the rhythm track are one-shot recordings. I played the lead 3 or 4 times and took the ... least bad :)

3. Refinements: Think I will ask my brother, the bassplayer, to record a real bass track. Will do the rhythm part on my les Paul, and will practice a lot more on the lead part...

4. anyway it's good practice for an old(?) accoustic player :-)

That is some great pickin. I think I've got the blues.

My dad would always talk about retirement, and allude to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And I say all you've got at the end of the rainbow is death. You're riding the rainbow right now. - Mark Borchardt

Thanks guys!

Chino - it is least bad because I tend to err on different spots each time - so it should be possible to make it better all the way through - and then I go and put on the original, and then *I* really get the blues...
