Hi,

I've been planning on recording this for some time now and finally got around to it. The vocals might have some pops and are somewhat uneven but I've tried to fix the worst of it. My mic needs to be thrown into a volcano!

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone wanted to have a listen and maybe even give me some feedback.
You can click the link in my signature and find it listed under music or try clicking here to get right to a page with the song (it worked for me just now, perhaps it'll stay that way :))

Man,
I like the song, you have a really cool style of singing. Your voice sounds great, and you know how to play well with dynamics. It's a little hard to hear/make out what you are saying sometimes though, I think the volume on the guitar track needs to be turned down a tad to fix this.

I like it over all, your voice reminds me a LITTLE of the guy from Coldplay.

Nice work.

Don't eat the mic. I had a hard time listening but I wan't to hear it. The song sounds good. Song wise it's great. At first I thought it might be a cover of Jeff Buckley. The songwriting reminds me of Jeff Buckley a lot. Great singing but a good recording would really make this worth downloading.

Thanks guys,

I'm recording in layers on my computer and I think I need a new microphone, it adds a lot of noise and when I try noise reduction I usually end up with a lot more echo than in this recording. So if anything, the reason I'm eating it is because I was trying something new. :)

man,

Nice song! Would you be willing to post the lyrics here? I'd really like to read them.

Margaret

When my mind is free, you know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue, the guitar's comin' through to soothe me ~

Thanks, margaret

Here are the lyrics.

Rabbit & Frog

V1
Who's the one to blame for all the rain
asked the rabbit while he shook his fur
and shaking off the water

V2
I'd like to see the sun so I could dry
he said while looking at the puddle beneath
his furry large white feet

Prechorus:
But then a frog leapt from his stone
and shared a wisdom of his own

Chorus:
Waters wet, that's just how it goes
You take the good with the bad and shrug the worst of it off
And if the sun don't shine, there's not much you can do
Don't mope, get up and see the day through
There's plenty of days yet to come around

V3
So the rabbit sat down lost in thought
He pondered and he wondered, contemplating a lot
While the frog sat patiently upon his rock
discussing Newtons law of gravity with Henry the croc

V4
The rabbit took his time, yeah, he wasn't in a hurry
I guess logic and reason don't come easy when you're furry
But the croc and the frog, well, they really didn't mind
And by now they had Einsteins relativity refined

Prechorus:
But then the rabbit jumped up in the air
saying I'm only wet because of all of this hair

Chorus:
If I shaved it off I'd look a lot like you
We could paddle the pond and find out why the waters blue
And if the sun don't shine - yeah, it really doesn't matter
If we both get wet - well, the wetter the better
There's plenty of days yet to come around x2

Hmmm.. something tells me those lyrics aren't the right ones.

This is really embarrassing...

Ok, I'll try one more time then

"I want someone badly"
(K.Widvey/K.Widvey)

Drip you little drop, into a porcelain sink
Fall from the faucet and join with your friends
I'll look at you go and wave thee farewell
when you slide down the white carousel

A chewed up, ragged toothbrush sits alone by the sink
I know how he feels, I think
This familiar space will be gone any day
He knows he's not meant to stay

CHORUS:
I want someone badly
I can't leave this world oh so sadly
I feel so alone, somebody hear me
I want someone badly

Two towels hang next to the door
They always have, I hope they always will
Everyone around me has someone close
Am I foolish to wish I had one of those

Bridge:
And he's wondering who will take his place
he's wondering where he'll go
And he's wishing, oh, how he's wishing
that he wouldn't go alone
Some company sure would be nice x3

CHORUS

"I wish there was an over the counter test for my loneliness"

Man...I liked them all! Some excellent raw material.....I,m thinking if you could record each part individually you may find you produce better sounding recordings (I know we are sometimes limited by equipment) ...
the songs as you sing them are great and stand up, as acoustic/voice only...I just wonder if they wouldn`t be really great if you could find a way to add to them...perhaps some percussion(didn`t I hear a lead on at least one of them?) I would be interested in hearing what you come up with...As for the lyrics, I thought they were really good..I think I like"Rabbit and Frog" for it`s Aesop Quality...good job, cooker

Thanks cooker,

I am recording each part individually now, just a little unprofessional, is all. My microphone is adding so much noise, you wouldn't believe. I've been looking at soundcards for my PC, but they're a bit too expensive right now. I'm hoping on saving up though, there were a lot of programs that came along that surely must be helpful for something ;)

I have been experimenting with several different guitars on top of eachother, fun to play with. I'd love to add some percussion, but I wouldn't have any idea where to start. I've been thinking about it for some time, but my knowledge of it (and equipment) aren't quite sufficient, I'm afraid. If you have any experience with it, please drop me a message. I'd love to hear about it!

:)
